Prospect Finders was shaped by a desire for a locally established and controlled way to exchange business referrals and opportunities. Its founders were determined to create a group that could develop and market their businesses while being an asset to the community.

Current members represent a broad spectrum of area small businesses. With such a diverse membership, careful thought is given to developing agendas that will be beneficial for the entire group.

In addition to discussions of members’ businesses and exchanges of business opportunities, Prospect Finders’ weekly breakfast meetings include specific ideas and suggestions on how members can grow their businesses.

Prospect Finders is separated from other networking groups by their belief that the primary way a business grows is through visibility in the community and that this visibility comes from participating in area events. Prospect Finders has taken part in business expos and business after-hours events. They sponsor the Kankakee River Valley Regatta; are involved in helping Career Center students develop employment skills; and award student scholarships.
